How long have you been in business?
32 years going on 33 this year.
What is your primary product or service?
Taking people out fishing Lake Michigan for Salmon and Trout. Showing them how we do it, teaching them about the equipment we use and why, and making it a fun experience for them.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Have always fished since about 6 or 7. My parents bought a cabin on Wall Lake in Delton and it started there. My grandmother also had a cabin near Bitely and we"d go up there on vacation and fish off the Ludington pier or Big and Little Star Lakes. While going to school durning the summer months my brother and I fished most of the week to get enough fish for 6 people for the Friday night dinners. After military and college and working for a living and having a larger boat and the explosion of salmon in Lake Michigan I decided to become a charter Captain and supplement income in retirement. Going on 33 years this year and although we have long days and short nights, teaching and showing people the joy of pulling in the BIG one, is still exciting. LIFE IS GOOD!
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We take time and a personal approach explaining and showing the people what and why how we are using the certain equipment and also explain the of what not to do and what to do while fighting the fish. I tell people all the time NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. We also work well with children when they're on board, which is why we get a lot of families.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
As of right now we are only in Grand Haven, MI. 49417

We are located on the east side of the drawbridge separating Grand Haven and Spring Lake, on the South side of the river across from the Holiday Inn. We are at Grand Isle Marina, 1 Grand Isle Dr., Grand Haven, MI. 49417.

We take Discover, Visa, American Express, MasteCard and Cash.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
I own the company and run the company.
What are your hours of operation?
7 days a week, charters are usually 6am through 8pm. morning afternoons or evening.

Captain we enjoyed the trip and we'll be back.
